Glenn began his comedy career in his hometown of Vancouver in 1995. He moved to London in 1998 and quickly became one of the rising stars of the London and international comedy circuit, having performed in Australia, USA, NZ, South Africa, Switzerland, France and loads more! Glenn was nominated for Best International Stand Up at the New Zealand Comedy Festival Awards and twice for Chortle Best Headliner.
“A masterpiece of comedy which has the audience helpless with laughter. I genuinely think this is one of the best hours of comedy I have ever seen” ★★★★★ The Scotsman
The last two years have seen Glenn touring with Reginald D Hunter for his Some People v. Reginald D. Hunter tour. You also might have heard him on Freestyle with Frankie Boyle, or seen him on Doug Stanhope’s The Comedians’ Comedian’s Comedians (SeeSo), which was recorded at SXSW..
About Getaway Comedy
It’s all about the laughs at Getaway Comedy. Expect a delicious mix of playful, unapologetic, dark, punchy and (most importantly) very funny stand-up. Our main aim is to make sure our audiences have a top night out. Line-ups are booked purely on merit (ie. how funny each act is), with an emphasis on making sure there’s a variety of comedic styles for you to enjoy throughout the show. A spoonful of observational, a sprinkling of one-liners, a pinch of musical, a dollop of the daft… you get the picture. With all the crap going on in the world, Getaway Comedy is an opportunity to escape to laughter for a couple of hours.
Getaway Comedy have been putting on shows for over a decade (previously under the banner of The Stand-Up Club), and have built up a reputation as one of the best run and funniest comedy clubs in the UK. We also founded and run the £10,001 British Comedian of the Year competition, with the biggest cash prize in British comedy. With venues across London and the South, check out the nearest venue to you on our Venues Page.
